About Waxahachie Community Theatre

The mission of the Waxahachie Community Theatre is to provide premier family friendly theater activities and productions to educate, enrich, and entertain.  WCT has been actively producing and presenting theatrical and musical events in Ellis County, Texas since 1979, using local volunteer talent and working to advance education and interest in theatrical arts.

WCT filed Articles of Incorporation with the State of Texas on December 17, 1979.  WCT declared itself to be a non-profit corporation with perpetual duration.  The corporation was also declared to be a membership organization.

WCT mounts three major productions each season:  one in dinner theatre format, and two other fully staged Broadway-style musicals accompanied by a live orchestra.  A recent addition to our regular season is two showcase plays — one in July geared toward young actors and audiences, and a Christmas show in December.

In the past, we performed at the Lyceum upstairs in Sims Library, at the Ellis County Fine Arts Building, or at the historical Chautauqua Auditorium.  Now, we perform in several locations around Waxahachie, including local churches and on the campus of Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU).  WCT is an equal-opportunity theatre, and we welcome your interest in our endeavors.

Our Executive Director is Kasi Jones and the 2012 Board of Directors is Ryan McElhany-Chair, Vanessa Kinsala-Vice Chair, Kelly Pieterse-Secretary, Gary Clark, Jerry Ellis, Stacee Johnson and Jana Scribner.  Albert Love serves as the WCT Treasurer.

Support

WCT gratefully acknowledges the continued generous underwriting by Citizens National Bank of Texas.  These underwriting funds cover only a small portion of our annual costs; therefore, WCT also relies on individual subscriptions and personal or business donations to enable us to maintain the quality of our productions.

WCT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Please consider Waxahachie Community Theatre in your charitable giving plans for the year.  To become a supporter of WCT, you can download the form or contact us (972.646.1050 | This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
