ONE NIGHT ONLY!!

Auditions for Ages 13+

Monday, February 24

7:00 PM

Registration table opens at 6:30

University Church, Waxahachie

221 Solon Road

Welcome to the Renaissance, where the Black Plague has ceded power to the Puritans, farthingales and codpieces are the latest fashion trend, and the biggest celebrity in England is a playwright named William Shakespeare. Follow brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom in their efforts to keep their acting company afloat with something totally different! Something Rotten! is a hysterical, joyous celebration of everything you love about Broadway.  NOTE:  This production will be family friendly!

All roles are open!  â€‹Registration table will open at 6:30 PM; please bring a current head shot if you have one.  Vocal auditions will begin at 7, and you will sing in the order in which you registered.

Auditions will consist of singing a song of your choice and a short monologue.

Prepare a song in the style of the show that highlights your vocal range and strength, as well as your personality and stage presence.  You can sing a cappella, bring your own accompanist, or sing with a soundtrack if the track has no vocals (bring your own electronic equipment).

We will teach a short choreography routine after the singing auditions.  Wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for the dance audition.

Auditioners who want a speaking role should also prepare a short monologue in the style of the role you are seeking.  Monologues should be no more than 2 minutes long.

Callbacks for specific roles will be Thursday, February 27, at 7:00 PM at the audition location.

SOMETHING ROTTEN! is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).  All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI  (www.mtishows.com).  Kasi Jones is the show director, Don Jones is the music director, and Catie Bell is the choreographer.

Show dates are May 2-4 at University Church. Rehearsals will be on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and some Friday evenings beginning Thursday, March 6.
