Our History
The mission of the Waxahachie Community Theatre is to provide premier family friendly theatrical activities and productions to educate, enrich, and entertain.
WCT has been actively producing and presenting theatrical and musical events in Ellis County, Texas since 1979, using local volunteer talent and working to advance education and interest in theatrical arts. The theatre filed Articles of Incorporation with the State of Texas on December 17, 1979, and declared itself to be a non-profit corporation with perpetual duration. The corporation was also declared to be a membership organization.
Our Season
WCT produces two fully staged Broadway-style musicals each season: one in early May and one in late October. We round out the season with our showcase plays — a light-hearted comedy in February, one in July geared toward young actors and audiences, and a Christmas show in December.
Performances for the 2024 season will be at University Church in Waxahachie (221 Solon Road, 75165).
WCT is an equal-opportunity theatre, and we welcome your interest in our endeavors.
Our Leadership
Kasi Jones has been WCT Executive Director since 2010. The members of the 2024 Board of Directors are Zach Nelson (Chair), Catie Bell (Vice-Chair), Tiana Sutton (Secretary), Albert Love (Treasurer), Cody Murray, Billy Pritchett, and Tania Simpson.
